THE FUTURE
While our recent facility improvements are much needed and appreciated, the mission of St. Thomas calls for additional facility expansion.
In addition to a more welcoming reception area, we need a larger fellowship parish hall so everyone can enjoy meals together—all seated at the same time.
Although we have made significant improvements to the Nave, our need to expand this crucial space will increase as our congregation grows in number.
St. Thomas will always strive to serve God and neighbor. Please join us in our Building On Faith journey as we head into our future mission and ministry.

Building on Faith
What Is Building On Faith?
At St. Thomas, we have always known that our facilities need to change and grow as time passes, so we can remain as vital and strong as our ever-evolving ministry and mission dictate. Over the years, St. Thomas parishioners have committed to sacrificial financial pledges to ensure that we have space for our mission. In 2004, St. Thomas began our journey in Building On Faith. We wanted to provide even better Christian education space for our children. We wanted to remodel our kitchen, parish hall, administrative offices, nursery, and Nave to ensure that we can continue to succeed in our ministry and mission.
Our Plans Now
Through God’s grace and many, many generous pledges by parishioners and others committed to our mission and ministry, St. Thomas raised over one million dollars to fund a great portion of our original plans. Now the first part of our construction is complete.
Our new wing includes eight classrooms, restrooms, large windows and lots of storage. This wing provides needed space for Christian education and the clinic, as the classrooms can be converted into examination rooms during clinic hours. The offices of the Rev. Dr. Judy Culpepper, Director of St. Thomas Clinic, and of Deacon Alice Goshorn were located on opposite ends of our nursery. Now their offices have been moved into the new wing.
The nursery has been completely remodeled and expanded, while the nursery wall has been moved over to create a bigger hallway. Fr. Dave Ferner’s office has been moved across the hall into the former office of Deacon Alice Goshorn, and includes a closet. Parish Administrator Becky Pierce has kept her office, and Fr. Dave’s former office now holds our office equipment. There is a door between these two parish administration offices.
The Nave, the kitchen, the parish hall and our existing restrooms have all had significant improvements and upgrades, including new lighting and flooring. The kitchen has new appliances, cabinets and equipment, including a commercial grade under-counter dishwasher. Exterior improvements consist of storm drainage work and repavement.
